Frequently Asked Questions
About Néctavida

Does Nectavida replace other Healing America products?
Nectavida is not intended to be a replacement for Healing America’s other fine products. People who have experienced good results with the individual products should continue these and perhaps add Nectavida to the mix.  Nectavida is primarily for people who understand the need for supplementation but are either unwilling or unable to take a variety of products, such as the Power Maintain group.

Nectavida has ingredients that cover the same ground as MultiPlex III, AlkaMin or Clark’s Minerals, eRadicator and Immunal.  However, it does not do this in the same way or to the same extent as these fine products.  Also, for the full spectrum of benefits covered by the Power Maintain products, eNZyme and AlliPRO should be added to Nectavida.

I read that Nectavida has over 120 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, but I can only find about 45 listed in the ingredients list.  Can you explain this?
There are over 70 trace minerals in the trace mineral complex contained in Nectavida, and dozens of phytonutrients in the tropical fruit blend.

Why do some people get stomach irritation or nausea when they take Nectavida?
Nectavida packs a lot of nutrients into a small volume.  Some of these, particularly minerals, can cause irritation or nausea in susceptible individuals when they are this concentrated.  We recommend that most people take Nectavida with food in their stomach to avoid irritation or nausea.  Mixing the bottle version of Nectavida in juice and splitting servings (i.e. 2 tablespoons twice daily) can also help.  There seems to be less of this issue with the packet version of Nectavida (due to the larger amount of water used and the effervescent material), but it is still a good idea to take it with some food in the stomach.

Is Nectavida suitable for children and pregnant or lactating women?
Nectavida is a single source of important nutrients that most people don’t get in adequate amounts from their diet these days.  These nutrients are beneficial for people of all ages and states of health.  That being said, it is always prudent for pregnant or lactating women to confer with their Health Professional before starting a product such as Nectavida.  This at least makes them aware of this supplementation, and there may be some nutrients they want consumed in greater amounts than Nectavida provides.

Children should be given Nectavida in amounts as outlined in the suggested use directions –  ½ teaspoon for each 25 pounds of body weight, which can be given twice per day.  There is a good margin of safety here, as the Daily Value amounts for vitamins and minerals are for ages 4 and up.

Will Nectavida interfere with medications?
Typically, no.  We left vitamin K out of the formula so there would be no conflict for people on anticoagulant medications such as coumadin.  People with health issues needing medication are always well advised to consult with their Health Professional before starting this or any other dietary supplement product.

Is the Acesulfame K – the sweetener in Nectavida – a form of Aspartame?
Acesulfame K is a non-caloric sweetener that is entirely unrelated to Aspartame.  It was selected as the sweetener in Nectavida for a number of reasons.  It has excellent stability under high temperatures and good solubility.  Acesulfame K is 200 times sweeter than sucrose, and it has a clean, quickly perceptible, sweet taste that does not linger or leave an aftertaste.  It is not metabolized by the body and is excreted completely unchanged.  Finally, it has an excellent shelf life, does not contribute to tooth decay, and is useful in diabetic diets.

What are the little white flecks I see floating in my Nectavida?
These are microencapsulated vitamin E and vitamin A (beta carotene).  They are in this form to ensure potency.  These vitamins are more unstable than others in a liquid medium, and have significant deterioration within several days unless they are protected by something like the microencapsulation.  This quickly breaks down and releases the vitamins in the digestive tract.

Why does Nectavida come in 2 different packagings – bottle and box of individual packets?
Nectavida was originally introduced as a dry powder in an otherwise empty quart-sized bottle, to which consumers add their own pure water for constitution when they are ready to begin consumption.  This packaging ensures full freshness and potency, and eliminates the need for pasteurization and preservatives.  It does require refrigeration and consumption of  the constituted product within 60 days.  This is great for home use, but it is not very convenient for travel or sampling.  The individual serving packet packaging was introduced to address these needs.

What is the best way to measure a 1 ounce serving of the bottle version?
The cap of the Nectavida bottle measures a 1 ounce serving.  Just fill it to the top of the screw lines and you will have 1 ounce.  Another way to measure this is to pour out 2 tablespoons, which is 1 ounce.

Is it absolutely necessary to refrigerate the bottle version of Nectavida?
Since Nectavida has no added preservatives and has not been pasteurized, it should be refrigerated after constituting with water to improve flavor and avoid spoilage.  It can be kept for up to 60 days in the refrigerator without spoilage or significant decrease in potency.
